Tina grew up in the small town of Vermilion, Ohio located on the north coast. She spent her youth helping her grandfather and father train dogs to compete in water races and helped her father with the family-owned business. Early in life Tina aspired to be a Veterinarian, but after further consideration decided to obtain a degree in business. Despite this decision, working with animals and business ownership always remained a goal. In 1997, her HR career brought her to Mankato. After purchasing a pet Giant Schnauzer, Tina and spouse Marilyn Fox, fell into the hobby of grooming, handling, and showing Giant Schnauzers. Tina was a highly regarded groomer/owner/handler in the Midwest Giant Schnauzer community and was encouraged by friends to start a grooming business. In 2004, Tina obtained a certification (ABCDT) for dog training through Animal Behavior College and dove into business ownership. Tina enjoys helping her staff achieve their potential and using her HR, quality control, and pet behavior knowledge to provide high quality services in a less stressful environment. Ultimately, she loves helping your pets look and feel their best! In her free time, Tina enjoys visiting State Parks, bird identification and photography. Cardi, the Torti kitty, keeps her busy at home!

Dr. Marilyn L Fox
Marilyn L. Fox is a Professor in the Management and Entrepreneurship Department in the College of Business at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is also Vice President of Furs’ A Flyin’ LLC. Marilyn grew up in southern Missouri and owned mini schnauzers for 17 years. While working for Kraft Foods Inc. she was transferred to Minnesota where she continued to work until an opportunity to work in higher education became available at Minnesota State Mankato.
Marilyn and spouse, Tina Dickel, purchased their first giant schnauzer in the late 90’s and with encouragement from a breeder began showing giants. Tina learned to groom and handle dogs in the show ring and became one of the best in the business. Marilyn helped raise and train their dogs. She has also learned that many aspects of teaching students to develop curriculum and train employees in organizations is also very applicable to dogs. Tina and Marilyn always wanted to own and operate the premier grooming salon in the area offering the highest quality services while keeping the health and safety of the pet at the forefront. Fur’s A Flyin’ is this and more. There is now a cat in their house “Cardi” who greets them with excitement every day.
